We had just completed our first anniversary as a married couple. I remember that I worked hard to save money for a nice dinner for our special date. We went to Red Lobster, and we were discussing how our first year of marriage went and how we were looking forward to many more. What we didn’t know was an elderly couple in the booth next to us had been listening to our conversation. They had finished their meal and wished us a happy anniversery and many more. As we went to pay at the end our server informed us that the couple who left earlier had paid for everything. To this day I remember this act of kindness and try to pay it forward whenever I can. It may have been just a meal, but to the strangers that paid for our meal you made a positive impact that I still remember after all these years.
